Future Crisis Committee

Topic: PROJECT VANGUARD

*PING… *CLICK*....

Welcome,

Who we are is of little consequence but we’re here to talk about you.

You, local Knight or Samurai, have been scouted to join PROJECT: VANGUARD, during WAIMUN 2023 FUTURE CRISIS COMMITEE.

Where you will be headlining the futuristic world of wait, medieval Japan, wait no, medieval Europe? No not that either, because you will find yourselves in the monk punk-themed world of PROJECT: VANGUARD

This alternate reality scenario frames what would happen in a world where the bubonic plague never spread, destroying medieval civilization in its wake, but instead, feudalism spread until Japan and Europe became the two kingpins of the 27th Century.

You will engage in diplomacy as local Knights and Samurais who were recruited to participate in PROJECT: VANGUARD; A new initiative created to maintain order amongst the two dynasties and amongst the people who live in them. You will deal with conflicts that affect both modern and ancient factors such as stopping uprisings by stopping a cyber attack.

You must balance your morals with the sins of society to survive in this world. Create your version of justice, whether ending rebellions or fueling them.

May your swords be drawn and your wits be sharp, in a battle where empires of steel could crumble in the palm of your hand and your honorable dias accept you with open arms, do you accept?

Position Papers must be submitted to this form soon. Further questions or extension requests may be emailed to secretariat@waimun.org.

Background Guides Will Be Available Soon!

  • Jillian Callet

    DIRECTOR

Jillian Callet (Jill) is a senior at Bellarmine Preparatory School in and is delighted to be serving as the director for the FCC. Jill started her journey in Model UN in her Sophomore year with an internal conference at her school. Her Model UN journey has allowed her to dive deep into her love of international affairs and global citizenship. From conference to conference you will see her carrying her thermos of tea studying different background guides. Since with her first accidental crisis committee Jill has been in love with specialized committees and all they have to offer. As the first “decorum delegates” is said and the last motion to close debate is made she can’t wait to watch all of the delegates grow and succeed. She is elated to see all the delegates at WAIMUN this winter and wishes them the best of luck.

  • Rishit Behera

    CHAIR

Rishit Behera is a crisis-obsessed sophmore from Redmond High School and is on cloud nine when it comes to anything mun related, which includes being this year’s chair for FCC (also nukes). His debut was technically as a beginner in EDUMUN 2022 but he considers his real initiation in SEATTLEMUN 2023 where he took part in his very first Joint Crisis Committee. A journey that started in his Freshmen year has now taken role as his passion and as one of his two gateways into the world of public speaking and diplomacy (something he practices daily when dealing with his brother). Since that day in SEATTLEMUN, when he got to fight pirates as an amateur Jack Sparrow in his first crisis committee, Rishit loved the enthralling stories and adventures that could be made in crisis committees and hasn’t looked back since. Now it is officially his turn to set up his future delegates for their stories in any world he will create with his fellow dias, as if a director of a movie. Whether actors or dictators, Rishit is as excited as he is terrified to see his delegates clash within the world of FCC, and with eachother in the next iteration of WAIMUN 2O23. He wishes well to his future delegates and reminds them to bring a scarf 🙂.

  • Judah Lee

    ASSISTANT-DIRECTOR

Judah Lee is a freshman at International Community School and is ecstatic to be serving as the assistant director for FCC. Judah began his entrance into Model United Nations in his Freshman year with EDUMUN. Pursuing Model UN, Judah has furthered his interest in diplomacy and debate. Judah has always been intrigued by the controlled chaos proposed by a crisis committee, and has been dead set on staffing them. He is thrilled to be able to serve at WAIMUN and hopes for a great conference experience for all delegates.
